The joy of the busy

I have a confession to make.

I love being busy.

I know, I know. We have all these Pinterest quotes on how we should let go of the busy and live your life not the rat race. That busy is just an excuse that people give to get out of doing something they don’t want to do. And I am sure lots of people do that but I LOVE the busy.

As a stay at home mom sometimes I feel like I don’t do enough. And some days I don’t because as much as I love the busy I will sit on my ass for hours reading a book. However the days I feel most accomplished are the days that I have done a ton of stuff.

Now I feel the need to say that those days I feel accomplished are the days I get stuff done that moves our family forward. Not just the little things but the bigger ones also.

It’s the day I can check off all of our son’s schoolwork for that day, there has been an art project and a hike. I have helped my husband in our business. I have written a post on here and my other blog. I have made plans with people. I have done all the housework and I have cooked for everyone.

Days like that always make me smile and fall into bed exhausted and I love it.

Now on the flip side I hate the busy days that make you feel like you are staying in one place. Those are just the most frustrating and I hate when they happen to me. I am getting better at decoys is it them as they happen and getting out of the loop.

To me the busy is not a bad thing. As long as you can find a balance that works for you and your family it’s a healthy thing. Finding the balance is the key.

So the next time you answer the question with how have you been with busy just know I feel ya sister.
